WAAI INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

 
JAMIE HINDS - Somerset, California
Sequoia Institute – Full-time undergraduate student
After graduating from high school a year early, Jamie began the technical training program at Sequoia Institute, an automotive and HVAC trade school located in Fremont, California. Sequoia Institute is sponsored by BMW and the program takes the top 15% of the students to train in the company. Jamie hopes to do an exceptional job at Sequoia so that she is invited to participate in this training. With an ambitious and determined personality, Jamie’s goal is to specialize in on-board computer systems. She is an automotive enthusiast with her current desire to find and restore a ’54 GMC pickup. Jamie is also an active student member in good standing with the WAAI.
 
WAAI/NORTHWOOD SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
MARCELLA BLEDSOE - Ramona, California
Northwood University – Full-time undergraduate student
Marcella is a senior student attending Northwood University’s BBA program in Automotive Marketing/Management. While attending school at Northwood, Marcella has participated as a team member for its auto show, an officer for Skills USA, and recognized on the Dean’s list. Her automotive work experience includes internships with the Cush Automotive Group and Perry Ford. When she leaves Northwood, Marcella’s goal is to pursue a career at an automotive dealership where she can advance through management and gain the skills that will allow her to one day own her own dealership.
 
KRISTEN HERZBERGER - Bay City, Michigan
Northwood University – Full-time undergraduate student
Kristen is an enthusiastic senior student attending Northwood University’s BBA program in Automotive Marketing/Management. She has been named to both the President’s and Dean’s lists, served as Northwood’s auto show promotions chairperson and worked press week for both the 2002 and 2003 auto shows. Kristen is currently employed part-time at Garber Chevrolet and an aerobics teacher at the local community center. Upon leaving Northwood, Kristen wants to become a full-time employee with the Garber group with the goal to learn what is necessary to advance herself into management. Kristen enjoys public speaking, coaching, and working with people.
KRISTEN KASKINEN - Kaleva, Michigan
Northwood University – Full-time undergraduate student
 
Kristen is a junior student attending Northwood University’s BBA program in Automotive Marketing/Management. While attending school at Northwood, Kristen has participated in the auto shows, appeared on the Dean’s list, worked as a guard for the Delta Zeta Sorority, and received experience as a public speaker and moderator. Kristen’s goal upon graduating is to continue her career in the automotive industry working for a large dealership or manufacturer and designing the interior of new car dealerships. One day, Kristen hopes to own her own dealership.
