Pontiac category director since February 1996 when the former
Pontiac and GMC divisions merged.
A native of Escanaba, Michigan, Myers holds a bachelor's
and master's degree in marketing from Michigan State University
in 1964 and 1967, respectively. In 1986 she completed the
Tuck Management Program at Dartmouth University.
Myers began her career at General Motors in 1973 as a statistician/analyst
trainee with Oldsmobile. After holding various marketing and
advertising positions, she was appointed to the position of
marketing director in 1982, and then was named director of
planning for Oldsmobile in 1985.
In 1988, Myers joined the GM Marketing and Product planning
Staff in Detroit as general director of North American Truck
and Capacity Planning. In June 1989 she was named general
director of North American Car and Truck Planning for GM.
At Pontiac since 1992, Myers held various leadership positions
including general marketing manager; general director, brand
management and marketing; and marketing service manager.
Myers received McCall's/Ward's Auto World/New York International
Auto Show's first annual "Outstanding Woman in the Automotive
Industry" award in marketing in March 1994; the MSU Alumni
Service Award in 1995; as well as MSU's Outstanding Business
Alumnus Award in 1989 and MSU Distinguished Alumni award in
1999. She was named one of the Top 100 Women in the Automotive
Industry by Automotive News magazine in 2000. |
