Maureen Kempston Darkes
President, General Motors of Canada


As President of General Motors of Canada and a General Motors Vice President, Maureen Kempston Darkes holds the highest operating post ever achieved by a woman

of General Motors. She is also the first woman president of GM of Canada and one of only two female vice presidents at General Motors.

In GM's history, only three other women have gained vice presidential status. Ms. Darkes' address on her career at General Motors and on the automobile industry provided the National Women's Automotive Association to hear one of the most influential women in the auto business.
